Twilight (Twilight #1) By Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight is #68 on Books That Everyone Should Read At Least Once. I enjoyed reading this book. I read this book before it was turned into a movie, and I must say that the book is way better than the movie. The movie actually disappointed me and I would never consider watching it again. A girl that I had met at a place I will not disclose, was reading this book and I was intrigued with the cover. So, I asked her ” What’s that book about?” She told me that the book was about a vampire that falls in love with a human. To me that sounded boring, but for some reason the cover was telling me it was something more in the story.

Anyways, the main character in this book is Bella. Bella is the human that the girl I mentioned above was talking about. Bella is a high school student who moves from Arizona to Forks, Washington to live with her father. When she moves there she meets a guy named Edward, who as reading I later learned along with Bella is the vampire the girl mentioned above was talking about. I thought it was weird that vampires were able to read people’s minds and could basically make others do what they wanted. However, it got even weirder when I learned that for some reason Bella’s mind could not be read and that her blood was very desirable. Isn't that weird?

Anyways, Bella and Edward start to fall for each other which eventually puts a lot of risk in boring Bella’s life. When a tracker vampire, James, comes to Forks he makes it a challenge to hunt Bella down for her irresistible blood. Now Edward is forced to fight to save Bella because he loves her as Bella tries her best to protect her family from this pack of tracker vampires.

My Rating:

I give this book 5 hearts because I loved the romantic story involved. I found it very interesting that Bella was so pasty white like the vampires being that she is from Arizona. I kept turning the pages and was hoping she’d become a vampire at the end.
